Wedgewood Golf & Country Club's Tennis Pros are very experienced in starting young tennis players on the best track for success in the sport. Our well recognized Junior Tennis Programs teach children the mechanics and fundamentals, as well as prepare them physically for the eventual fast pace of match pay. Junior Tennis Program Levels

Little Tennis
Saturdays: 12:30pm – 1:00pm (Foam Balls & USTA Red Ball)
Children are never too young to start a sport they can play for a lifetime! This class is for young, pre-school aged children and class emphasizes hand-eye coordination and basic stroke development.

Futures
Tuesdays: 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Thursdays: 4:30pm – 5:30pm
Saturdays: 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Must choose one clinic day per session. (USTA Orange Balls)
Designed for the 7 - 13 year olds beginning players that have never had a formal lesson or clinic before. This fun class emphasizes stroke development, proper grip and hitting across the net.

Challengers
Tuesdays: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Thursdays: 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Saturdays: 2:00pm – 3:00pm
Must choose one clinic day per session. (USTA Green Balls)
This class is designed for 8 - 14 year olds who have already mastered basic grip and stance for forehand, backhand, serve and volley and has begun to develop basic footwork for specific strokes and is able to hit 3-4 balls in succession across the net.

Masters Prep (High School Training)
Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Must choose one clinic day per session.
Designed for players who can hit groundstrokes in specific areas, are able to complete 60% of first serves, form and footwork play an integral role in groundstrokes, are able to hit at least 10 balls in succession over the net, and are able to hit and control topspin and slice groundstrokes. This is a transition class to the Masters Program.

Masters (Invitation Only)
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays: 4:30pm – 6:30pm
Designed for highly motivated junior players seeking sectional and national rankings. This program is limited to qualified and highly motivated Championship players. Participants must be evaluated and have approval of Troy Yerian, Head Tennis Professional. Players are encouraged to take private lessons in addition to the Master’s option.
